THE PROCESS

“I CONSUME, THEREFORE I AM.”

Project is the product of critical design aimed to create one of possible solutions of the problem of hyper-consumerism through the formation of critical thinking as a part of consumer culture.

Subjects of the study are the main social and psychological triggers of consumption, marketing and the culture of hyperconsumerism in the information space.

Today’s information space is oversaturated with offers. Mass media and social networks contribute to this, but the quality of the offered non-material culture product is doubtful, the field of supplementary education is commercialised and often has no scientific or experimental basis.

Further research brought me to the frames of critical practices, since main subject leads to socio-cultural and capitalistic basis of the chosen problem.

As a result I formed one feasible way to come to resolution of such a complex problem - critical thinking, which could help to be independent from advertising, trends and false values dictated by the market.





Metaphorical Process of critical thinking shows steps, which should be taken to make this kind of analysis possible.
